As a PhD student my project involved a genome-scale metabolic reconstruction of Streptococcus agalactiae - a major cause of neonatal mortality, and detection of potential drug targets.
We recently published the paper "Detection of stoichiometric inconsistencies in biomolecular models", Gevorgyan, Poolman, Fell; Bioinformatics 2008. In this paper, we introduced a class of structural errors: stoichiometric inconsistencies and proposed algorithms for their detection.
